3.1. What are Cookies?

Cookies are used for our website – as on many websites. Cookies are small text files which are stored on your computer, and which store certain settings and data for exchange with our website via your browser. A cookie usually contains the name of the domain from which the cookie file was sent, as well as information about the age of the cookie and an alphanumeric identifier.

Cookies allow us to recognise your computer and to make all your settings and preferences instantly available. Wherever possible, the cookies we use are session cookies, which are automatically deleted at the end of your browser session. Occasionally, we may use longer-lasting cookies to remember your preferences the next time you visit our site.

3.2. How to manage cookies?

Most browsers are set to accept cookies automatically. However, you can deactivate the storage of cookies or set your browser to notify you when cookies are sent. It is also possible to manually delete cookies that have already been saved via the browser settings. Please note that if you refuse to accept cookies or delete necessary cookies, you may not be able to use our website to the full extent or at all.

Once you have made your choice, you can change it at any time by going back to the cookie settings by clicking on the “Consent Preferences”-button in the bottom left corner of our website.

3.3. What is the legal basis for the use of cookies?

We use both cookies that are strictly necessary and cookies which require your consent.

If cookies are not strictly necessary for our online services, we will ask you to consent to the use of cookies when you access our online services for the first time. With regard to non-essential cookies from third parties, you will find a more detailed description of the services we use from these third parties below. The legal basis for the associated data processing, including any data transfer, is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR). Once you have given your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, in particular by changing the selected settings.

The legal basis for the use of necessary cookies is our legitimate interest in providing a functional website (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR) and – insofar as contracts are concluded or fulfilled via our website – the performance of the contract (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR).
